Dear {college resident life office}:
I am an incoming freshman looking forward to attending {College Name} in the fall. I’ve submitted my intent to enroll as well as my tuition and housing deposits. I’m writing now to ask to be released from the campus meal plan requirement.
I am living with {medical condition/food allergies/severe aversion/dietary restrictions/disordered eating/etc.}. The campus meal plan will not work for me due to {reasons}.
I have attached a letter from my physician, along with a list of the foods I cannot eat. As you can see, there are quite a few restrictions.
Paying {amount} for a meal plan that I can rarely use would create a hardship for my family, as I would still need to {buy groceries/order takeout} to meet my dietary needs.
I look forward to your review of my waiver request. Please let me know if you need any further information or documentation regarding my dietary needs.
Sincerely,
{Name}
